(1) Sustainability

From environment perspective, sustainability refers to the ability of causing little or no damage to the environment and it will be able to continue over time.

As the nature is not an inexhaustible source of resources, we should consume natural resources at a rate that they are able to replenish themselves.

Consumers are increasingly making conscious decisions with sustainability by choosing brands that have ethical and environmentally sustainable practices and values.

To achieve environmental sustainability, we should make the best efforts to preserve environment by using renewable energy, saving water and recycling in daily life.

Companies of different sectors are aiming to produce products environmentally sustainable through product design and manufacturing process by innovation.  

Due to the acceleration of global warming, we should action now and change some of the habits for environment conservation, hence ensuring a better future for generations to come.

Definitely yes. Sustainability is a very important purchase consideration for me. I’m now willing to pay a premium for such products and brands.

I would like to protect environment because it can help reducing production waste and carbon footprint during manufacturing process.

First, buying just what I need is my priority. Next, I’ll eat less meat for cutting carbon emission. Last, I’ll consider shifting to low carbon emission modes of transport.

How to reach sustainability goal at home?

I’ll recycle old clothes and furniture, buy products from second hand shops, reduce water and energy consumption.

Do you think that companies are now facing pressure to prove their sustainability certification?

Yes, consumers have gradually shifted their purchase behavior to sustainable products whereas price, quality and sustainability are all important.

What should be the sustainability commitment of companies?

They should innovate and design products by using materials that are regenerative, recycled or sourced sustainably.

How can we support companies promoting environmental responsibility?

We may consider to purchase green fund that invest in companies engaging in environmentally supportive businesses such as electric vehicles, water and waste management.

Why does sustainability become the strategic priority of more companies?

By committing to becoming carbon neutral for the products, it would help increasing corporate’s brand values and competitive advantage whereas raising customers’ loyalty.

從環境的角度,可持續發展是指於長時期可持續地減少或甚至沒有對環境造成的破壞。

由於大自然不是擁有取之不盡的天然資源,我們應該小心使用資源,並可讓已消耗的資源有足夠時間自行復原。

消費者的購買決定會越來越以可持續發展為考慮,當挑選品牌時是以公司已採用有道德及綠色可持續發展的實施及價值為購買原則。

為達致綠色可持續發展,我們應該要儘最大的努力去保護環境,於日常生活使用可再生能源、節省用水及把物品循環再用。

不同行業的公司,透過產品設計及製造過程的創新,目標為生產擁有綠色可持續發展元素的產品。

由於全球氣候暖化的加劇,我們應該立即行動,為保護環境而改變生活習慣,從而令我們的下一代有更好的未來。
